Mold Inspection
Dallas, TX
Mold Inspection Dallas Irving – We offer virtual or in-person inspections
When Mold Busters Dallas conducts an inspection, we begin by discussing areas where you have seen mold and use a moisture meter to detect water intrusion from plumbing, HVAC condensation, or the building envelope (roof, walls, windows, crawlspaces, and foundations). The most common places for mold are bathrooms, under sinks, and laundry rooms. We also check air ducts for mold. If you see something suspicious, call us for an evaluation. Sometimes mold is so apparent that a visual inspection, including a virtual inspection, is enough. However, we need to come on-site for an estimate and testing reports.
When should you get a mold inspection? Consider it in these situations:
- When purchasing a new home.
- After a water leak.
- Following minor or significant flooding
- If the home has been unoccupied for a while.
No Cost Estimate
When getting multiple mold remediation estimates, it is wise to get at least one from a company that offers the dry fog approach.
Moisture Detection
Hidden mold is a serious issue, as it leads to long-term exposure. With a moisture meter we can detect excess moisture behind walls.
Certified
We are certified to perform inspections and guarantee our work. With Mold BustersDallas, you’ll get it done right the first time.
What You Should Know About Mold
Source of Mold
With enough time, indoor plumbing failure, water intrusion from the weather, and high levels of indoor humidity are inevitable in every property and home. Water can easily become trapped between walls and dark spaces like drywall, insulation, and carpet, creating a perfect environment for mold.
Mold spores are always present in outdoor air, and it is impossible to prevent some of this mold from finding its way indoors. However, it will never take hold if it doesn’t have sufficient moisture. Organic matter is also required. The absence of sunlight and little air flow increases the likelihood of it growing. This is why 100% of all indoor pipes have mold. But the issue isn’t mold as much as whether it has reached harmful levels. Only mold testing can tell you this with certainty; however, if you have a strong, musty/moldy smell inside your home or business, you most likely have an unhealthy level of mold.
Mold’s Effect on Health
Mold spores can be airborne before visible mold appears. We take in these spores through the air we breathe, the food we eat, and through contact with our skin. Our bodies know how to handle this daily occurrence with low concentration. Still, when the concentration increases, different people’s bodies will hit “tipping points, ” making them sick at different spore counts per cubic meter.
Studies link mold to chronic sinusitis, respiratory issues, wheezing, coughing, and asthma, particularly in young children.
Why Mold is Difficult to Kill
Mold spores typically range in size from 2 to 100 micrometers in diameter. Most commonly, they are between 5 to 30 micrometers. Their small size makes them airborne and easily spread through indoor and outdoor environments. Once it takes hold, it can penetrate materials to the point it can weaken structural wood beams and studs to the point that they will collapse. This microscopic size and its ability to penetrate microscopic gaps make it extremely difficult to reach. And if you can’t reach it, you can’t kill it.
Dry Fog is the Only Reasonable Solution
Mold can seem scary, but fortunately, there is an easy solution. Mold Remediation with dry fog that atomizes droplets to 5 microns back-pressures them and penetrates every space mold can be found in the solution. When you think about the alternatives, it becomes the only reasonable solution.

Most jobs can be done within a few hours, leaving your home and your air clean and clear.

A visual inspection by a trained and certified mold inspector may make testing unnecessary.
There are only four reasons to conduct a mold test:
- To find out if mold spores are at a level high enough that mold remediation is truly necessary.
- To help with a claim with your home insurance. (most insurances in TX do not cover mold, but may cover water damage)
- If your doctor needs help identifying the type of mold or mycotoxins for treatment.
- To determine if you can handle the job yourself. Dangerous mold requires professional removal, while benign mold might be manageable on your own, potentially saving you money.
Customer Review
My family had been dealing with fatigue, headaches, allergies, and dizziness for quite some time. We decided to get the air quality tested and were glad we did, as the pollutants were about seven times the safe limit.
Alen’s professionalism was greatly appreciated, and he worked quickly. By the time I got home from work, everything was completed. The air quality was much cleaner, leading to better sleep and fewer headaches and other symptoms. The final report confirmed that all issues were cleared out. We are extremely pleased with the service!
